I’ve seen this speculation a lot. In my view, it depends on windows 9. If it’s a huge upgrade and vastly different, make people pay. But if it’s just minor updates to Windows 8, then make it free.
I think this is a great idea. Reward the people who are actually keeping up with the times. People need to go ahead and move to 8.1, so they can get used to Modern tiles being added to Windows.
This makes sense. Microsoft may do this to get everyone on the same level. This may make it easier for the company to move forward.
Exactly right. Your logic is the same logic that is coming out of Redmond right now. Microsoft needs their users to be more united instead of all interested in different OS.
It actually helps us all for the the majority of users to be at the same baseline. There are benefits to it that a lot of people just don’t get. But talking to most people is like talking to a brick wall because the only thing the understand is hate for Microsoft
