If there is one thing that not only complements but completes the Windows 8 experience it’s the Windows Store and all the engaging apps its houses.
And it looks like Microsoft is up for a major redesign for its flagship apps repository.
The software titan just put up a new post on its official blog sharing details of everything that is getting a new coat of paint in the upcoming refresh of the operating system, and the Windows Store, along with Metro apps, is in line to get a bunch of new enhancements.
The Store will display detailed lists of top free apps, new releases and top picks for each category:
“The app listing is more descriptive and informative and includes an area for related apps to help with app discovery. Categories are listed with other app commands such as links to your apps and your account information.”
Microsoft will also improve the built-in Metro apps — including popular ones like Mail, SkyDrive, Camera and Music. Each of them will come with new features and, of course, support for the brand new 50-50 Snap View mode.
And speaking of SkyDrive, Windows 8.1 will also allow users to effortlessly save files in their SkyDrive account. The built-in SkyDrive app will get major improvements, allowing users quick access to the files that are stored in the cloud.
