Back in October, Microsoft unveiled their Surface Duo – an interesting dual-screen phone powered by Android.
The Duo has a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage – with a 256GB tier available for $1,499.
The dual displays are both 5.6-inch AMOLED screens with a display resolution of 1800×1350. The camera is a feeble 11MP lens with an f/2.0 aperture.
The device also doesnt have NFC, 5G or a high refresh rate for the display.
The dual-screened device is made available only to users in the U.S. for a whopping $1,399 and today, Microsoft announced that the Surface Duo will launch in Canada, United Kingdom, France, and Germany in “early 2021”.

Absolutely not, Bill Gates is a Sociopath and a Eugenicist and he founded Microsoft and is the chief architect behind this Plandemic/Scamdemic, who still owns the majority of stock in the company I am sure!!!
It is not a Plandemic/Scamdemic, you are the victim of propaganda, which is very sad, but you are far from being the only one. Buy yourself a mask and do some social distancing. That will reduce your risk of exiting the gene pool. If you want a better example of a sociopath, in fact an obvious narcissist, you only need to look at the behaviour of the now-dead Steve Jobs. He died of a rare form of pancreatic cancer that was actually treatable, because he ignored the doctors and took quack remedies. There’s a lesson there. I don’t know what your assertions of Bill Gates being behind the pandemic and being a Eugenecist are based on, but it is clearly alt-right propaganda, possibly put out by the Russian IRA (Internet Research Agency). You sound like a Trump supporter, and you should realise there’s a close link between Trump’s racism and white supremacy, and eugenicism. Have a nice day. Be nice and wear a mask.
I am not a Trump supporter and you are obviously just another Mind Numbed Zombie, Wake the Fuck Up!!!
No, I am still waiting for a 40 mp or greater camera on a decent cell phone so I can ditch my camera.. My old Nokia 1520 had a good camera lens several generations ago. Not impressed with the new “gimmick” lenses in the latest top of the line phones. Haven’t seen anything lately from Nokia or Microsoft that I would buy.
then why are you whining and crying? Like Onuora said, keep on the subject and keep your political opinions to yourself where they belong
Everything is Russia, Seriously you need a Huge Cup of Wake the Fuck Up!!!
This is a post about the Surface Duo. Can we stay on the hardware please?
Maybe well-off Americans can afford to take a chance on a Surface Duo but I can’t. I hope it succeeds, and I am puzzled that there has been little in the media about it since the initial excitement when it launched. I have heard that some people have had problems with physical damage to the device, but not enough to know whether this is something minor or not. I would hope that Microsoft, who have deep enough pockets, would do the right thing and replace devices that become damaged. That would be good for confidence, especially as this initial Surface Duo product is known to be a testing of the water, so to put it, and it is important to encourage people to try it, because of the great potential it has if successful. Certainly, from the software viewpoint, it looks very interesting, and though I can’t afford one as things stand, perhaps the cost will come down progressively.
In the video, the reviewer, or someone, is shown putting a Duo in his back pocket. Wow. Must be rich. Or careless. Prime property for pickpocketing. Also, despite how tough it might be, sitting down with it in your back pocket, such as when getting into your car, is a great way to trash your investment instantaneously.
The camera could have been made thicker by having a recess in the other panel at the matching position. Up to almost 10 mm. That would have given an opportunity to have a better camera.
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A and a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Samsung has so far exceeded my expectations on support and OS updates. Really satisfied with both though I would like to have a 4 or 5g capable Android tablet. The Surface Duo is close to what I would want but at $1399 is higher than what I will pay and the folding capability is not a high point for me. I will likely keep a cellphone and a separate tablet as the hardware of choice.
Thanks for the response.
Simple answer? Absolutely not. I dont need a cell that does everything and washes my drawers. All my phone needs to do is be able to bluetooth into my car and send texts as well as take pictures and make and receive calls. There is no reason for anyone to have to pay between 1400 and 2000 for a stupid phone.
The common consensus…
exactly, thats why you still see simple flip phones. So either the cell phone makers are going to understand this or they are going to lose a whole lot of money in making things that people dont need and very few of them will buy
