Mark your calendars, ladies and gentlemen! Microsoft has made it official that it will be holding its first-party games showcase for Xbox on July 23, with Summer Games Fest host Geoff Keighley doing the honors.

The upcoming event is simply named “Xbox Games Showcase”, and will kick off at 9AM Pacific, following a preshow at 8AM Pacific.

A chance for the company to make amends for setting the wrong expectations for its Inside Xbox episode in May, where Microsoft teased gameplay. All we got instead were a few fast-paced cinematic trailers with very few gameplay sequences of these upcoming games.

Besides, it’s not like Redmond has any other choice than to bring the big guns for its next digital event.

Not after the recent PlayStation 5 reveal event by Sony that got a fair amount of buzz last month, and got everyone talking after hitting 12 million views on YouTube.

With the upcoming Xbox Series X console set to lay the smack down, and Windows 10 gaming also sliding in the spotlight, with Project xCloud all ready to shake things up, there is no better time than now to make it count with games.

Speaking of, there is talk that Halo: Infinite, Hellblade 2, Flight Simulator, and a new Forza game are expected to make an appearance at this show.

Rumors about a new Fable game under development and a Perfect Dark reboot are also hot.

Guess we’ll find out some two weeks from now.
