Xbox Video Also Rumored To Get A Major Redesign In Windows Blue

Microsoft has started the process of updating the built in Windows apps, as we get closer to the big launch of the preview version of Windows Blue on track to take place next week.

Anticipation is high, as users continue to scout everything that is new in the upcoming OS.

As it turns out that along with plenty of enhancements and UI changes, Redmond is also looking to update most of its built in Windows 8 apps in order to give them a polish and bring them more in line to the overall design philosophy of this first major upgrade to the platform.

It seems that Xbox Video is one of the apps that could get a new coat of paint.

No specifics are provided, but the app is said to undergo a major overhaul in Windows 8.1 — bringing with it a new design and a few feature improvements.

According to some forum posting over at BetaArchive, users have found references that point to a new design for Xbox Video. A bunch of new options are also expected, but the emphasis seems to be on the appearance of the application.

But it would not be surprising to find Xbox Video getting the same treatment that Xbox Music was recently seen to be getting. Think dark colors instead of the grey gradient that is currently applied, for instance.

Windows Blue will go live in preview form on June 26 at the BUILD developer conference, and more details are expected on these speculations then.
