Yahoo! Thinking Of Dumping Microsoft

The Telegraph that said that the once king of cyberspace is now looking to adopt Facebook’s upcoming search engine to challenge Google. Both companies are already collaborating on a number of projects, including a new service that provides sharing options on the social networking giant. So in a way, a new agreement would only expand the collaboration between both companies. Yahoo! signed a 10-year deal with Microsoft in 2009 that saw the Bing search engine being implemented into Yahoo!’s search results. But the fine print is that this partnership was formed before Marissa Mayer (who was a former Google executive, for the uninitiated) joined Yahoo!, and now her company seems to be looking for a way out. While Microsoft’s Bing still struggles to truly match Google’s search engine blow-for-blow, Facebook’s upcoming search technology is expected to play a much more important role. Officials of the three companies are pretty much mum on the matter for now, but Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook has already confirmed that they are working on a new search engine project. Facebook “is pretty uniquely positioned to answer the questions people have,” he said.
