The Duo is in the house! Microsoft has already announced its first Android handset in the form of the Surface Duo, with those who preordered the device expected to receive it on September 10.

However, if you want to check it out first, then you can do so right now.

That’s because Redmond has sent the Duo to a few partners that have put the smartphone units on display for anyone that wants to have some hands-on time with them. More specifically, two of the largest retailers in the US — Best Buy and AT&T — have the demo unit in store.

They will begin selling the Surface Duo after September 10, but anyone can walk in these locations and take the handset in hand.

As Microsoft put it:

“For those interested in seeing/trying Surface Duo before purchasing, they’re welcome to visit Best Buy stores beginning August 12th, and AT&T stores beginning August 28.”

Sweet.

Despite coming a bit short in terms of hardware specifications, with an older generation processor and just one camera, the Duo has that novelty factor that sets it apart from other smartphones that are available on the market.

At the same time, its eye-watering price tag of $1,400 is also something that sets it apart.

For this reason alone, it is a good idea to get a taste of the Duo by heading over to your nearest Best Buy or AT&T outlet, and see what all the hoopla is about.
