A Look at A Few New Features Coming to Windows Blue

Unless you were totally away from the net yesterday, you probably know that Build 9364 of Windows has now leaked to the net. Yes, that’s Windows Blue.

Here at Windows Blue we’ve covered several videos and pictures showing off the leaked build, but as the net continues to dig deeper into the features, plenty of news is coming out about what Blue will bring to the table.

Let’s take a look at just a few of the new features we now have confirmed are coming to Blue, unless they are taken out between now and the final build.

Picture Frame Mode

One of the new features coming to Blue is a picture frame mode. What exactly do we mean by that? Basically, the lock screen on Windows 8 devices will now work as a personal photo frame and will pull both from local photos and cloud-based storage.

This is similar to what already exists on Windows Phone 8. It isn’t a huge change, but it is still a nice addition.

Modern UI File Manager App

The second feature we are going to talk about is a new file manager, designed specifically for the modern UI. This is a feature that has been requested for a long time by many Windows 8 fans.

Not much more is known about what all the file manager will feature, however.

Internet Explorer 11

Internet Explorer 11 is coming to Windows Blue, and with it comes something that should have been added to IE a LONG time ago. What’s that? Synced tabs.

That means that using the Microsoft account, anything you look up with one IE-equipped device, you can access and see on other IE-equipped devices.
