A HP Elite x3 model compatible with Verizon is now available on the Microsoft Store, with Microsoft now selling the smartphone at $599, confirming the rumors that had been swirling for a while.
This is a Windows phone that launched more than a year back.
Customers with the Verizon network were left out at that time, but HP has managed to create a model specifically for them. Interestingly, the unlocked GSM model that had been discounted to $599 for months has seen its price go back to $799.
Which doesn’t seem that smart a move, considering how the smartphone has sold, and the state of the Windows 10 Mobile platform overall.
However, if you do get this model that has cellular radios tuned for Verizon, the Elite x3 is exactly like the unlocked one. You will get a 5.96-inch 1440p AMOLED display, with 64GB of internal storage, a fingerprint reader, and iris recognition.
A 16MP rear camera does good enough duties.
HP has also created a Desk Dock for this device, which is the company’s docking solution for connecting the phone to an external display and a keyboard and mouse for a desktop experience — Continuum, as Microsoft likes to call it.
