There are a host of new features that will be introduced in Windows 8.
This post will talk about Windows 8 DirectAccess.
Microsoft are spending a lot of time and money making this operating system a lot slicker faster and more efficient than Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
This is part of a series of posts that I’ll be putting in place to kind of stake out the features I believe will be in Windows 8.
Below, I will try and summarize each feature for you so that you can get a comprehensive overview of what I believe will be a new Windows 8 features.
DirectAccess in Windows 7 gives mobile users seamless access to corporate networks without the need to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN.)
It is available in the Windows 7 Enterprise operating system and is not available in Windows 7 Professional. Enabling DirectAccess allows the entire network’s file shares, intranet websites and other applications to be available wherever there’s Internet.
DirectAccess also allows administrators to update Group Policy settings on remote computers.
Two or more Windows 7 computers can share documents and media, including stream the media between computers; and also connect printers.
It’s a good bet that Windows 8 will have DirectAccess.
