Those of you into making noises in the basement can now make noises right on your Windows 8 device using this neat little music creation app. Music Maker Jam was even showcased by Microsoft in a best apps list recently.
You get access to four music styles right off the bat — these include jazz, dubstep, tech house and rock. More are available as paid options. The official description:

After selecting a music style, you can get to work in the DJ Control Panel and combine the song parts with instruments to create the sound you want. A selection of effects is available that can be added to the songs as filters. Recorded tracks can easily be saved as MP3 files.
The app is available on all Windows 8 platforms, and perfectly optimized for touch. And better yet, it is regularly updated with each new update bringing several new additions and improvements.
