Microsoft acknowledges error 0x80092004 during KB4531955 install

Angry Computer User

Microsoft recently pushed out cumulative update KB4531955, which is the latest preview for Windows 10’s 20H1 Update.

KB4531955 does not seem to deliver any notable changes and Microsoft released the update primarily to test servicing for 20H1 builds.

However, several Slow Ring Insiders reported they can’t install KB4531955.

Here’s how one user described this issue:

“Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version Next (10.0.19025.1052) (KB4531955)” and when installation completes, the error 0x80092004 appears. Is there a way to download it or something without the need to change of compilation?

For the time being, there is no workaround available to get rid of this problem. However, the good news is that Microsoft officially acknowledged the issue and is working on a permanent fix.
