Microsoft Releases SkyDrive 4.0 For iOS

Say what you may, but Microsoft is awfully quick to release and update its iOS apps. No surprises here, because the official apps on this platform seem to have a large user base.

Whether it is the Bing app for iOS or the Remote Desktop client, they are regularly updated with new features, performance improvements and bug fixes. Even the Skype apps on iOS are kept in tip top shape, and this is good going.

Now the company has just released SkyDrive 4.0 for iOS, and this version uses the Camera Backup function for automatically uploading flicks and clips to Microsoft’s cloud.

The release note for the app state that the app automatically uploads and photos and videos taken on the iOS device to the SkyDrive account of the user. And they will also notice improved integration with Office Mobile for iPhone and OneNote in this refreshed new version.

In fact, Office documents are now editable within SkyDrive on iOS devices.

And one noticeable change (as can be seen from the image above) is that the interface has been updated to look more like iOS — flat, sleek, modern and all. Not to mention, some performance improvements also made the cut in this new version of the app which works on iOS 6 or above.
