Windows 10 Gets New Notification Options

Windows Notification Options

Microsoft has quietly added new bells and whistles for notifications in Windows 10, with a couple of new additions designed to make managing notifications a lot more straightforward.

And we all know Windows could use some of this.

These notification refinements were noticed by a Reddit user, who discovered these changes starting with Windows 10 build 18917, which is a preview of Windows 10 20H1 on track to see daylight in the spring of 2020.

However, some users have seen these options in builds as early as 18972.

Nevertheless, as the screenshots below show, the Action Center comes with a handy new “Manage notifications” option in the top right corner.

Notifications Turn Off

This new button is only available for a limited numbers of Fast ring insiders, as Microsoft is most likely testing it out as part of an experimental release. If it does the trick, the company is sure to roll it out for more users as time goes on.

There is also a second improvement for notifications that allows for the possibility of turning off notifications and access notification settings for a selected app right from the Action Center.

This is another handy option, which should make it easy to get rid of annoying notifications you may be getting from certain applications or even websites.

Again, these features are in testing now, and schedule to go live with Windows 10 20H1, which will probably go by the name of April 2020 Update when it arrives next year.
